OIC Makes It Official: Whitewater is Now a Republican Scandal.
In case you missed the news yesterday, the Office of the Independent Counsel, headed by New Jersey Republican Senatorial Candidate and Conservative Hack Robert Ray, released its final report on the Whitewater scandal. In the report, Ray concludes the following:
"Insufficient evidence exists to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Mrs. Clinton knowingly participated in the criminal financial transactions Jim McDougal engaged in to benefit Whitewater Development.
Insufficient evidence exists to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Governor Clinton knew of, or approved of, the fraudulent $300,000 CMS loan to Susan McDougal.
Insufficient evidence exists to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that President Clinton knowingly gave false testimony when he denied receiving a loan from Madison Guaranty.
Insufficient evidence also exists to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that President Clinton knowingly gave false testimony about his lack of knowledge of the Lorance Heights acquisition. In light of these conclusions, the Independent Council also determined that there was no 'substantial and credible information' warranting referral of these allegations to Congress for consideration of impeachment under 28 U.S.C. § 595(c).
Insufficient evidence exists establishing that Governor Clinton knowingly participated in the criminal financial transactions Jim McDougal engaged in to benefit Whitewater Development."

This across-the-board exoneration of all Whitewater charges has officially changed Whitewater from a Clinton scandal to a Clinton-hater scandal.
Let's think back. Remember all of those Republicans gleefully accusing the Clintons of wrongdoing? Remember all those e-mails you received from your conservative brother-in-law with Whitewater accusations? It turns out that every bit of that was crap. Those who would argue that the term "insufficient evidence" is not tantamount to a complete and total exoneration are simply all wet. If additional evidence existed, seven years, $70 million and a relentless investigation run by Clinton's enemies would have uncovered it. Everybody who fabricated or repeated the lies about Clinton is guilty of the un-American activity of lying about a sitting president. Kids, these are just plain lousy Americans. They represent a cynical (and for the most part, successful) attempt to destroy a president whom they could not beat in either the public policy arena or the voting booth. Instead, this group of American traitors decided to hamstring Clinton's presidency by whispering lies, whereupon Republicans would scream for investigations, and a significant portion of the public (morons, mostly) would eat it up. For this reason, when history finally records the Whitewater scandal, it will show it as a Republican scandal rather than a Clinton scandal.
I would like to officially call for a new special counsel. This counsel would investigate the sources of the lies and half-truths about President Clinton and prosecute those responsible for slander and/or libel and/or treason. America must deter these creeps from ever again sabotaging the United States Government. Such prosecutions could almost make me a believer in the death penalty - almost.
Bill Clinton, while too conservative for my tastes, was and is the finest politician of his generation. Those weasels on the other side of the aisle who turned the Whitewater scandal into a Clinton scandal should be smoked out of their holes and hunted down. They are truly a disgrace to our political system and our nation.
I want my eight years back.
